Free Family Devotions Online for Any Bible Chapter

The Family Worship App gives you free family devotions online. Choose any book and chapter of the Bible, and a guided session is ready on one page with a prayer, a hymn to sing, the reading, questions for the family and a closing prayer. You do not need an account to open a session.

Many families want devotions that are simple, free and rooted in the Bible. That is why we made this site. It is a ministry of Cornerstone Reformed Baptist Church, and a session takes about ten to fifteen minutes.

What you get with our free family devotions online

Each session follows the same order, so your family always knows what comes next.

  1. Begin in prayer, with a short invitation and an example prayer.
  2. Sing together, with a hymn from our hymn library.
  3. See where we're going, with a short look at the chapter and questions to listen for.
  4. Read the Scriptures, the whole chapter on the page.
  5. Reflect together, with questions to ask. In a written session these centre on the main truth of the chapter.
  6. Looking to Jesus in my life, with a question for the heart. In a written session this includes a word on how the chapter points to Christ.
  7. Pray together, with a closing prayer.
  8. Journal together, with a box for writing something down.

Written sessions and general prompts

Some chapters have a full written session, built around one main truth. At the time of writing these include the four Gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, and 1 John, 2 John, 3 John, Jude, Philemon and Titus, and more are being added. Every other chapter of the Bible also opens, with general prompts for prayer, reading, reflection and closing. You can use any chapter at any time.

How a family uses a session in fifteen minutes

  1. Gather at the table, and open the worship page on a phone or tablet.
  2. Pick a book and a chapter. If you are new, try the session for Mark chapter 1.
  3. Pray, sing the hymn and read the chapter aloud, taking turns.
  4. Ask the questions on the screen, and let the children answer first.
  5. Close in prayer, and tomorrow open the next chapter.

The hymns, free to read and sing along with

Each session suggests a hymn, and the hymn library has the words and the story behind each one. Many hymns also have chords and a video to sing along with.

Why it is free, and who makes it

The Family Worship App is a ministry of Cornerstone Reformed Baptist Church. We want every family that wants to read the Bible together to be able to, whatever its budget. Our beliefs follow the 1689 Baptist Confession, and it leads to Jesus Christ. We never ask you to pay to use a session. Only God gives a new heart

A session brings a family to God's Word, and God's Word brings us to Christ, who died for sinners and rose again. A family can use every session and every hymn and still need the Lord to give its members new hearts. So we use them as a way of hearing Him, we call our children to turn from sin and trust in Jesus, and we ask God to do what only He can do.
